In questions, qui on its own requires inversion of the verb : whom do you wish to see? = qui voulez-vous voir? but qui followed by est-ce que needs no inversion : qui est-ce que vous voulez voir?pron
1 (interrogative) qui (est-ce que) ; (after prepositions) qui ; whom did she meet? qui a-t-elle rencontré?, qui est-ce qu'elle a rencontré? ; to whom are you referring? à qui est-ce que vous faites allusion? ; the article is by whom? de qui est l'article? ;
